1982年7月毕业于Betway官方客服的前身新乡师范学院数学系数学专业并获学士学位,其后留校在数学系任助教；1983年9月至1984年1月参加复旦大学全国青年教师拓扑进修班学习；1987年4月任讲师；1990年9月至1991年6月在四川大学做国内访问学者；1991年9月至1994年6月在四川大学基础数学专业攻读博士学位，研究方向为微分几何；1994年6月毕业获博士学位；1994年7月任副教授，1997年9月任Betway官方客服数学系副主任，2000年5月任教授，2000年6月转任Betway官方客服数学与信息科学学院副院长，2002年11月任河南是师范大学数学与信息科学学院院长；曾先后多次到北京大学（1996年、1998年）、德国柏林洪堡大学（公派访问学者，2006年10月至2007年9月）、瑞典马尔默大学（国际交流计划，2007年9月至10月）、日本佐贺大学（受邀，2008年7月）作学术访问。主要从事特殊几何结构及子流形几何的研究。

  作为主持人或主要参研人员, 主持或参加多项国家和省级科研项目的研究工作，与北京大学陈维桓教授合作出版《黎曼几何引论》上、下册两部。在Tohoku Mathematical Journal, Manuscripta Mathematica, Differential Geometry and its Applications，Results in Mathematics, Archiv der Mathematika, Applied Mathematics Letters, Kodai Mathematical Journal以及《中国科学》（中英文版）、《数学学报》（中英文版）等国内外学术刊物上发表论文三十余篇。主要工作包括利用全纯曲线理论对球面中极小浸入曲面的研究、六维球面中具有常数Kaehler角的一类极小浸入曲面的分类定理、欧氏空间中高余维浸入曲面的G*-形变、空间形式中具有平行平均曲率向量场和常数量曲率的子流形的Moebius刻画、球面中具有平行Blaschke张量的超曲面、具有平行仿Blaschke张量的超曲面的完全分类、以及有关Blaschke等参超曲面的分类定理、超曲面上诱导SU(3)结构的挠率研究等。部分研究成果曾获河南省自然科学优秀论文奖和河南省教育厅优秀科技论文奖。
